and it's mostly a matter of making the last 30 years
of TV development completely redundant.
The odd bit is buried at the end, though. .BBC1 will also continue with its policy of guest presenters on Have I Got News for You,' it says. Well, knickers to that. As I recall, the reason Angus Deayton had to leave was that he'd become the news and the show had to be about the news, not have the presenter at the centre of it. Nowadays the show is ENTIRELY about the presenter, the name of whom is normally the only bit that gets into the papers.
I suggest they abandon this silliness and bring back Angus now. Or if they don't, they should appoint someone properly and have done with it - unless of course they're acutely aware that shows like They Think It's All Over have transparently run out of steam and they're concerned that without the spur of a new face in the chair every week HIGNFY will start to look equally tired..?
