Guy Clapperton, a speaker and futurologist, has added value to conferences and events on social media in ten countries since mid-2011. Clients have included O2, Adobe, Vodafone and many others. He has written two books on social media, "This Is Social Media" and "This Is Social Commerce". The first was on Amazon's top ten list of books on retail for managers from its release in 2009 until late 2012. He has been a journalist since 1989, primarily in the technology and small business arena. This led to four years as one of the founding judges of the Nectar Small Business Awards. He has also been part of the judging panel for the Bafta TV craft awards.

He has broadcast regularly for a number of years on the BBC News Channel and also on various radio channels. He became a media trainer in 2002 and now offers an e-learning option as well as personal visits.
